YWCA 11th Annual Purse & Passion Luncheon

flower loves to be involved with our local YWCA of Central Alabama. We held a workshop for local women at the YW last summer (view post here) and also help out with their Mother’s Day Flower Sale each May. Contributing time to charities in our area is very important to us flower girls, and what better way to help than to spread love and cheer with the beauty of what we know best—flowers.

On April 8th the Central Alabama chapter of the YWCA is having their 11th annual Purse & Passion Luncheon. Held at 11:30 a.m. at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel ballroom, the luncheon is expected to have over 1,200 attendees. In addition to all of the money raised for such a great cause (last year’s luncheon raised over $500,000!), another great (and beautiful) aspect of the event will be the décor. We can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Dorothy McDaniel of Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market designed the floral décor for last year’s Purse & Passion luncheon. Below are some photos courtesy of the YW that show some of last year’s table centerpieces. We love Dorothy’s use of green apples in her arrangements; it makes the orange Gerber Daisies really pop!

A flower Family Affair

This past Saturday, all the flower girls were happy to celebrate the marriage of two dear friends, Michael and Callie. A former flower girl herself, Callie was every bit the joyful bride this weekend!

Claire, Melissa, Callie, Josie, Abby, Valerie

We were so happy to be able to participate in such a beautiful, happy day that signals the start of Michael and Callie’s life together.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Hanson!
